Determining factors were the opposing position of the Italian government, which agreed with the proposals of the Lombardy region’s economic development department, and Germany’s request to “save” endothermic engines if they are powered by e-fuel. As a result, the topic is taken off the March 7 agenda. Satisfaction with the revival of the principle of technology neutrality (Lombard Manifesto 29.03.22 and Leipzig Agreement 17.11.22 for renewable fuels alongside electricity), which we have always supported. Concern remains over the continuing state of uncertainty about the future of the entire continental automotive supply chain, exacerbated by the proposed introduction of Euro 7 and new CO2 standards for heavy vehicles.
