Friday, November 17, 2023 at the FAAS conference. – Forum on Automotive Aftermarket Sustainability (https://www.faasforum.eu/) in Bologna at Futurmotive, the trade show organized by Autopromotec (https://www.futurmotive.com/it/index.php). CLEPA and ANFIA were among the sponsors of the conference. About 80 people from companies operating in the aftermarket attended the conference. The theme was how to make the aftermarket business sustainable. The topics addressed were:
- logistics, to be favored with electric or bio-fueled vehicles,
- The evolution of distribution, which sees possible new players
- (Secure) data management in relation to public or private regulations (Chain-X)
- remanufacturing, which needs to be carefully considered (apraeurope.org) because of costs that are sometimes not less than new product made in countries where production rules are not as stringent and ethical as in Europe.
Other topics covered: material substitution, durability performance of aftermarket components.
Thursday, November 23, 2024 at the Lombardy World Summit 2023, “Acting in a Changing World,” in which there was a preparatory afternoon with working tables on Biomed, Environment, Economic Activities, Research, Lombardy’s Attractiveness, Education, Agrifood, International Cooperation, Culture and Sports, Infrastructure and Mobility.
The working table to which the MLC was invited, coordinated by theRegional Councillor for Innovation Alessandr Fermi and by Undersecretary Invernizzi, debated the impact of AI and related technology transfer. A number of activities already in place at Large Companies and at the Lombardy Region emerged. Less active, and to be stimulated, are SMEs, provided skills are available through staff to be trained. A “Steering Cabin” will be formed to which CLM can contribute with the already established working table on AI and big data.
