The Alliance of Regions automotive is a policy network of regions committed to the successful transition of the automotive industry and its supply chain in Europe. The Alliance, which is an initiative of the European Committee of the Regions, aims to bring together regions with a specialized automotive industrial fabric and a strong supply chain that intend to not only actively work for the decarbonization of the transport sector and contribute to the achievement of the
European Green Deal
, but also strengthen regional industrial ecosystems and stimulate value creation, as well as ensure economic and social cohesion in all European regions affected by the transition. A key partner of the Alliance is the interregional group The future of the automotive industry of the Committee of the Regions, which has been working in this field since 2009. The interregional group will be the main entity in charge of facilitating cooperation within the Alliance and its future action.
