NEW GEOPOLITICAL BALANCES AND GREEN TRANSITION: IS THIS THE DAWN OF A NEW ERA FOR COMMODITIES?

The foundry sector, like the industrial world in general, is facing an exceptionally challenging period.
The pandemic, the energy crisis, and geopolitical tensions that have escalated into real conflicts have made it increasingly complex to understand the present and imagine the future.
An environment that makes it very difficult, among other things, to decipher future prospects for raw materials. The invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions decided by the EU against Russia have brought the issue of security of supply back to the center of debate in a way that has not happened, perhaps, since the Cold War. On the other hand, the path to ecological transition imposes the need to rethink habits and processes that have been established for decades, to find the right trade-off between economic sustainability of production, reduction of direct emissions, and decarbonization of supply chains.

So what will be the raw materials of the future? Are we really at the dawn of a revolution? We should expect new tensions on
supply, demand and prices? How should companies equip themselves to handle the new scenario? Also, what will be the strategies of the
Next European Commission to achieve the goals set by the Green Deal?

To these and other questions we will try to give some answers, thanks to the contribution of authoritative speakers who are experts in the field, next
June 21 in Soave, in the province of Verona, during the public conference organized on the occasion of the General Assembly of Foundries
associated with Assofond.
